Movie N° 197: Three Colors – Red – K. Kieslowski 1994 FRA

Even if we skip over the color white for the moment and damage the triad „liberty, equality, fraternity“, we are one step further to collect the trilogy for setscene. This movie as well has many symbolic levels on which the humanistic ideals are discussed conceptionally. Of course there is the color red which stands for fraternal love and gives the movie its name. But moreover one can recognize other concepts like intensifying truth with lights and shadows with loneliness.

We choose this movie with its sets because of the farsighted view on the coexistence of real communication between people and the communication through technical media.
